It is nearly the first day of summer and our beds are a mass of wildflowers. We planted these last year by just scattering seeds so many of the flowers blooming this season are a surprise. The butterflies and bees are very happy and my heart is lifted each time I pull into the driveway and see the tangled color.
As the weather continues to warm so does the business of summer. There is green wood to be stacked, wild strawberries to be picked, grass to be mowed and gardens to be tended. I love how alive and bustling this time of year is. Warm weather comes slowly and purposely in this part of the world and I find my energy rising likewise.
